Ailyn Burnette The Miner Goblin
Concept for Game (PAUSED)
Hi there! Sorry for the absence, i've been busy coming up with some crazy ideas. One of them is this: I'm working on creating my own 2D platformer game in Godot, with the provisional title 'The Shortstack Miner.'
The story is simple: Ailyn, a volcanic goblin, has fallen into the depths of a volcano and must find her way out.
Right now, the project is in the early idea and prototyping phase, since I’m still learning how to use the engine while coding.
Each image will include a short context explaining what it refers to.
Aylin's Designs: base, power-up and casual.
Aylin is a volcanic goblin who works in the town’s mine. They are goblins resistant to high temperatures and with strong physical endurance.
After a work accident, her face was partially disfigured and her left arm was partially disabled... Even so, she still shows a smile even in her worst moments.
After falling into the depths of the volcano, Ailyn would find who would become her future loyal companion, a stone golem whom she nicknamed 'Gorilem'.
The rock arm Aylin wears is Gorilem’s tail.
Pixel art adaptation for the game.
First Zone Concept.
Concepts for the first enemies in the game. I thought about creating centipedes adapted to living inside the volcano.
This would be the boss of the second zone, Lord Zadreck, this is actually just a nickname, since the name ‘Zatrador’ sounds too old-fashioned to him (though it was originally just a codename for his concept phase).
Lord Zadreck is a vampire who terrorized entire valleys for many years, until an unknown goblin sorceress confronted him and defeated him in battle, sealing his body inside a crystal and hiding it in a deeply hidden volcano. Ailyn would accidentally release him while trying to find a way out of that massive volcano.
Because of that experience, Lord Zadreck holds a deep hatred toward goblins.
These are concepts for several of his possible moves and in-game states.

And this was the last thing I did for the project, a drawing based on the cover of the album ‘City of Evil’ by Avenged Sevenfold.
This project is currently on hold due to a creative block… as well as difficulties translating my ideas into the GODOT engine.
The truth is, I’m not ready yet to make a video game.
